Can't wait for another adventure with Argel Pedro! He came to get us at the ferry after our stay in Isla Mujeres. If you remember from prior posts, he traveled with us from the ferry all the way to Merida (about a 4 hour ride). On the drive we got to know one another and he was able to stop for a quick history lesson and tour on our way to our Air BNB. We passed by small Mayan towns on the way! He dropped our things off to our residence. After that we headed to our Air BNB before we went to the grocery store. He had been a huge support in figuring out some activities and getting used to our area. We can't wait to see where else he takes us, so we booked a tour with him to see the local bees. That will be coming next week! You have to keep an eye out for the amazing pictures we captured at the hive! I've been using the honey he gave me in my coffee every AM.
We started and ended the day with April Halacy, but please tell me how I have not gotten a picture with her yet? We went to this really cute breakfast spot, we waited in line to get a table and I'd have to say my taste buds loved the place. Gia's maybe not! I'd go back to get some work done one AM or for a mom date!
Max and Gia get along really well and they seem to have similar interests, drawing and being unique. I loved that Max drew a picture for the waitress! Thank you April for a great morning!
After that we headed on an adventure to find a mall, but it went missing so we stopped for some ice pops! After that we hopping into an Uber and took our selves over to meet a mee friend, photographer and guide for our upcoming history lesson! JoséRa García. His wife prepared some amazing fruit water and snacks for us and Jose snapped some photos of us. We loved getting to know him a bit before we descend on our day long adventure tomorrow!
After that we headed back to the air BNB. Had some snacks and got back in an Uber to head to Habla for some salsa lessons. Gia wasn't feeling it. I had a feeling she was going to give me a hard time. She sat quietly though, while I danced.
I have to tell you, I haven't danced in over 1.5 years. Not like this! It's hit me really hard. Dancing for me is a language in itself! You can bond with people, without ever having to say a word, you can exchange emotions & express yourself! I think I still have my moves though and I'm hoping to learn some more! Maybe we can dance one night while in Mexico! Wouldn't that be amazing!
After that we took a walk to our favorite local park! It's just a 10 minute walk from Habla and it's got the best ice cream cones, chill hang spot and a fun place to eat sandwiches! So what did we do... we stopped there first!
After that we ended up with the awesome moms in the park! Dakota Élan Stephens-Rhodes, April and Flavia with the kids! It's so nice to see children playing and I park and coming from all over the world to do it! Something really magical about that.
From there we hopped back in a taxi and went home. We are all packed and ready for the big day tomorrow!
Side note: Uber's cost 1.50-4 dollars to get from place to place. Ice cream is about 1.5 and you can feed yourself all day with about 10 bucks (maybe less) depending on what you are doing!
Oh shit! I forgot the laundry! I went to pick up my laundry! Folded, stains gone, clean and fresh! Cost $6 dollars to wash!
